Budget spending on defense to grow by almost UAH 11 bln this year

“The Law of Ukraine ‘On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2019’ provides for UAH 102.5 billion for the Defense Ministry (2.6% of GDP), particularly: UAH 101.7 billion for the Defense Ministry and UAH 0.8 billion for the State Special Transport Service, which is part of the Defense Ministry’s system. Compared to 2018, the spending has been increased by UAH 10.9 billion, or 12%,” the Defense Ministry’s press service quoted Dublian as saying.

Among the priorities of financing, Dublian named an increase in the amount of financial support for the military, the provision of troops with modern weapons and equipment, and the logistical support for the military, primarily those participating in the Joint Force Operation.

He recalled that the state budget envisages the financial assistance to servicepersons in a total amount of UAH 49.6 billion.
