NBU transferred almost UAH 45 bln of profit to state budget in 2018
NBU Governor Yakiv Smolii said this during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform reports.
"In 2018, we transferred our profit for the previous year in the amount of UAH 44.6 billion to the state budget. The NBU profit for 2017 was transferred by a number of tranches according to the schedule agreed with the Finance Ministry. The tranche transferring mechanism is intended to smooth the impact of changes in government funds on liquidity fluctuations within the banking system and, respectively, on the dynamics of inflation," said Smoliy.
He noted that the NBU profit for 2018 will be transferred to the state budget in the same way, after the corresponding amount is confirmed by an independent international auditor and approved by the Council of the National Bank.
