Vice PM: IT industry ranks second in Ukrainian service exports

Information technology ranks second in the structure of Ukrainian service exports. 

"IT industry now ranks second in the structure of Ukrainian service exports. For example, the share of export of IT services is more than 50% in the overall structure of Ukraine’s exports to the United Kingdom," First Vice Prime Minister - Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said at the Government’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the data from the National Bank of Ukraine, the experts from the IT Ukraine Association and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), the Ukrainian IT industry for the first half of 2018 brought the domestic economy $1.5 billion in export earnings, up 29% compared with the corresponding period last year. The number of employees in the industry grew by 30,000 persons.

According to the results of 2017, the revenues of the IT services market totaled $3.6 billion, and the number of IT specialists was more than 120,000 persons with an average wage of $1,800-2,000 per month.
