Ukraine and Turkey have created a unique platform for dialogue with the involvement of representatives of government and business of both countries to improve the state of economic relations, increase trade turnover and overcome problematic issues in business.

Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv said this during his visit to Turkey and meetings with representatives of Turkish business, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The Ukrainian-Turkish platform has become the beginning of a new historical period of the Ukrainian-Turkish dialogue and our economic relations. This platform aims at attracting representatives of the authorities and businesses of both sides. When we started to work in this direction, the level of exports grew significantly. Last year, the exports from Ukraine to Turkey amounted to $2.7 billion, and for seven months of this year it was $1.6 billion," Kubiv said.

The minister is sure that an open dialogue between business and authorities of both countries will provide business representatives with an opportunity for long-term planning and defining specific goals.

"Both Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Turkey and Turkish business in Ukraine have ample opportunities. But we need to create comfortable conditions, legitimize principles, minimize risks, and private business will figured it out on its own," Kubiv said.

The minister’s visit to Turkey will last two days. This is his third visit this year. The program of the visit includes his participation in the Ukrainian-Turkish business forum, meetings with the official representatives of the Turkish government and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey, a meeting with the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), the representatives of the Ukrainian-Turkish Business Council and the Ukrainian community.
