Ukraine not to increase gas price until October 1, 2018 due to talks with IMF

The Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on August 29 extended special obligations for NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine until October 1, 2018.

The relevant documents were published by the RBC-Ukraine news agency.

According to the explanatory note, the Ukrainian government continues to hold negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on bringing the price of gas to the level of import parity price. In this regard, it was necessary to extend special obligations for another month - until October 1.

The decree comes into force on September 1, 2018.

As reported, the government’s previous similar decree provided for the performance of special obligations until September 1.
