Groysman, Junker discuss anti-Russian sanctions, Nord Stream 2 project

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker discussed the continuation of EU’s sanctions against Russia and coordinated steps in view of construction of Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.

"The parties discussed the issues of security, preservation of EU's sanctions policy against Russia as an aggressor state until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements and common stance on energy issues taking into account the prospects of construction of Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2," the Government portal reports.

According to the statement, Groysman and Junker agreed that the economic development, which Ukraine already demonstrates, requires a change in the format of cooperation regarding its duration. At the same time, the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement remains to be unchanged landmark and foundation for work.
