Ukraine imports over 1.7 thousand electric vehicles since start of year

In January-March 2018, Ukraine imported 1,744 electric vehicles, compared with 550 electric vehicles in the first quarter of last year, the press service of the State Fiscal Service reports.
"Since the beginning of 2018, 1,744 vehicles with electric motors have been imported into Ukraine," reads the report.
In particular, 794 passenger electric cars and other vehicles equipped with electric motors were imported into Ukraine in January 2018, 413 - in February 2018, and 537 - in March 2018.
At the same time, in the first quarter of 2017, 550 electric vehicles were imported into Ukraine (132 - in January, 181 - in February, and 237 - in March).
A total of 2.7 thousand passenger electric cars and other vehicles equipped with electric motors were imported into Ukraine in 2017.
As Ukrinform earlier reported, imports of electric cars to Ukraine are exempted from paying VAT and excise duty in 2018.
