Expert: 70% of EBRD funds provided to Ukraine directed to energy efficiency projects

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) directed 70% of all funds provided to Ukraine to energy efficiency projects in 2017.

EBRD Associate Director for Energy Efficiency and Climate Change in Ukraine, Poland and Caucasus, Sergiy Maslichenko, stated this at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The financing of energy efficiency is a priority for the EBRD's activities. Last year, 70% of all funds provided by the bank to Ukraine were associated with such projects," Maslichenko said.

As Ukrinform reported, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2017 issued loans for a record high amount of EUR 9.7 billion. The figure has been growing for four consecutive years. In 2016, it totaled EUR 9.4 billion.
