Ukraine’s potato exports grow 3.5 times in 2017 - Agrarian Policy Ministry

Ukraine exported 17.6 thousand tonnes of potatoes in 2017, which is 3.5 times more than in 2016, the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry reported.

The main importers of Ukrainian potatoes were Belarus (10.5 thousand tonnes worth $2.6 million), Moldova (4 thousand tonnes worth $0.5 million) and Azerbaijan (2.5 thousand tonnes worth $ 242 thousand).

At the same time, Ukraine imported 3,800 tonnes of potatoes worth $2.05 million in 2017. The main exporters were the Netherlands (1.4 thousand tonnes worth $859 thousand) and Egypt (0.5 thousand tonnes worth $207 thousand). .

In 2017, Ukraine’s foreign trade surplus on this position totaled $1.4 million.

As earlier reported, Ukrainian agricultural exports reached almost $18 billion in 2017, which is 16.3% higher from 2016.
