It is planned to create a test site for implementation of Hyperloop project in the city of Dnipro.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan said this at a press conference on February 22, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I want to highlight the Ukrainian partners: the National Academy of Sciences, which provided scientific assessment and scientific substantiation of the project, Ukroboronprom, Yuzhmash company, Kakhovka Plant of Electric Welding Equipment, Interpipe, Unit city, Ukrainian Institute for the Future, the Innovations Development Platform. We jointly create the Center for Transport Innovations Hype.ua, within the framework of which we want to give a scientific substantiation, develop a technology and build the first test site in the city of Dnipro for the development of this new mode of transport [Hyperloop] in our country," the minister said.

According to him, the project will help preserve the young staff potential of Ukraine.

Hyperloop is a mode of transport that propels a pod through a low-pressure tube at theoretical speeds of up to 760mph. The low air resistance allows the pod to travel faster than conventional trains. The Hyperloop concept was proposed by Elon Musk, CEO of the aerospace firm SpaceX.
