EU allocates almost 90 mln to support reforms in Ukraine
The signing ceremony took place at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on October 27, 2017, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Within the framework of the agreement on financing of the technical cooperation programme of 2017, the European Union will assist the Government of Ukraine in enhancing the capacity of public authorities to implement the Association Agreement and deep and comprehensive FTA, including adaptation of Ukrainian legislation with the EU regulations and effective development and implementation of reforms. The total budget of the program is EUR 37.063 million (including the EU contribution of EUR 37 million, the contribution of the British Council of EUR 0.063 million, the compensation for making contribution to participate in the COSME program of EUR 1 million).
As part of the agreement on the programme Support to Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine (PRAVO), the European Commission will finance activities to reform the rule of law system in Ukraine, including support for judicial reform, particularly the reform of the justice system, enforcement of judgments, improving access to the system of justice, state registries and the imposition of sanctions, as well as support for reform of the law enforcement agencies. The total budget of the program is EUR 52.5 million.
