This is stated in the draft law on Ukraine's state budget for 2018, which was posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
At the same time, when calculating the projected hryvnia exchange rate for next year, the government used the data of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), according to which the exchange rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar in 2017 was stable with a trend to strengthening - UAH 26.5 per dollar in January-August 2017. In August 2017, the exchange rate on Ukraine's interbank foreign exchange market was UAH 25.6 per U.S. dollar. By the end of 2017, the exchange rate of the national currency, according to NBU forecasts, was expected to reach UAH 30 per U.S. dollar.
As reported, according to the NBU, the strengthening of the hryvnia to the U.S. dollar in 2017 contributed to the revival of external demand due to the intensification of economic activity of the main trading partners of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of this year, the National Bank of Ukraine has twice lowered the discount rate, from 14% to 13% from April 14, and to 12.5% from May 26.
