Ukraine boosts revenues for agricultural exports by $2 bln in H1

Ukraine exported $8.7 billion worth of agricultural products from January to June 2017, or $1.9 billion more than in the same period last year, the Ministry for Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine has reported.

"In general, in the first half of 2017, there was a positive foreign trade surplus for agricultural products at $6.7 billion, while the share of agricultural exports in the structure of all Ukrainian exports over this period amounted to 42.1%," the report says.

It notes that the growth of exports in comparison with the same period last year was seen in all categories of agricultural products. In particular, supplies of live animals and animal products abroad grew by 155%, vegetable products by 124.5%, including grain crops by 122.7%, fats and oils by 127%, and ready-made food products by 133.6%.

In the first half of 2017, Ukraine imported $1.97 billion worth of agricultural products, or $21 million more than in the same period last year.
