Ukraine increases natural gas consumption by 3% in first half of 2017

In January-June 2017, Ukraine increased natural gas consumption by 3.2% or 547 million cubic meters compared with the same period last year, according to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.

The volume of natural gas consumption over the reporting period amounted to 17.7 billion cubic meters, the ministry reports.

In June, natural gas consumption grew by 8%, or 89.3 million cubic meters, and totaled 1.2 billion cubic meters.

At the same time, gas imports in the first half of the year increased by 132.7% compared to the same period last year.

Also, in January-June 2017, 7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were delivered to the country, while over the same period last year, natural gas deliveries amounted to 3.992 billion cubic meters.
