Groysman insists on passing pension reform in September

Ukrinform
In September this year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should pass a pension reform to increase payments for Ukrainian pensioners starting from October 1, 2017.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this in an interview with Channel 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It is critically important to adopt the pension reform in September. In case of its adoption in the Verkhovna Rada, nine million Ukrainian pensioners will be paid increased pensions starting from October 1," Groysman said.

The Prime Minister promised that pensions would be automatically modernized annually, starting from 2019.

According to Groysman, the Government of Ukraine has already elaborated a road map which would allow moving to formation of the defined contribution pension system immediately after adoption of the reform of the pay-as-you-go pension scheme.
