The Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) have established the Spain-Ukraine Business Council.

The Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) have adopted a cooperation agreement, under which was created the Spain-Ukraine Business Council. The document was signed in Madrid (Spain) by the vice-president of the ULIE, coordinator of the Export Promotion Center of the ULIE, Denys Krasnikov and the vice-president of the CEOE, Juan Pablo Lázaro.

The main objective of this agreement is to promote business interaction between Ukraine and Spain, as well as to expand business opportunities between the two countries.

According to the document, the Export Promotion Center of the ULIE will organize joint meetings of representatives of the two entrepreneurial blocks in order to explore new areas of cooperation and develop new projects, as well is previewed participation in specialized conferences, held both in Ukraine and in Spain. It is planned to schedule joint activities at least once in a quarter.

Promotion of trade and investment will be carried out in the form of technical assistance in different professional areas, depending on specialization and other characteristics of companies from the both countries. Particular attention will be given to exchange with current information on economic and regulatory conditions, including financial, commercial, scientific and industrial nuances of business development in Ukraine and Spain. In addition, the support to companies will be made through exchange and dissemination of information on commercial proposals, products for export, as well as through assistance in finding potential partners.

"The Spanish market is potentially very interesting for Ukrainian business. At the moment the main pattern of our exports to Spain is agricultural: grain for animal consumption and vegetable oil, but in the near future this list can be amplified with the products of high added value. The creation of the Spain-Ukraine Business Council will make a difference. From our part, we will provide support in commercial implementation in the Spanish market within the framework of the Export Promotion Center activities of the ULIE," Denys Krasnikov said.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ukrainian Ambassador to Spain Anatoliy Scherba. According to Krasnikov, the Ukrainian Embassy in Spain is actively supporting Ukrainian companies in the market of this foreign country and foments new investments to Ukrainian economy.

The Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) brings together more than 2 million companies and individual entrepreneurs from all sectors of the economy, as well as 200 territorial and sectorial organizations. It is the largest business association in Spain.

The Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) is the largest association of industrial companies and manufacturers of Ukraine of all forms and types.
