Bill to ratify agreement with EIB on public transport registered in Parliament

The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law, submitted by the President of Ukraine, on the ratification of the Financial Agreement (the Urban Public Transport Project) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The text of a corresponding bill has been posted on the parliament’s website.
“The ratification of the Financial Agreement will create conditions for providing the population with high-quality transport services via buses, trams, trolleybuses and subway," reads an explanatory note to the bill.
According to the draft law, the relevant Financial Agreement was signed on November 11, 2016 in Kyiv. In particular, the EIB is lending EUR 200 million to the Transport Ministry of Ukraine to support efficient operation and further development of existing public transport systems in municipalities across Ukraine.
