The Ukrainian government is planning to allocate an extra UAH 15 billion for road maintenance operations in 2017, while a total of UAH 14 billion has already been provided in the state budget.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated this at a briefing during his working trip in Vinnytsia, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today the task is to invest more funds and make the quality of Ukrainian road repairs better. Currently, we have UAH 14 billion allocated for the first stage of maintenance operations. At the moment we are working with the National Bank and the Finance Ministry to get an extra UAH 15 billion in accordance with the budget that has already been approved for road rehabilitation and construction,” Groysman said.
According to him, this amount will be enough to launch large-scale maintenance operations. Meanwhile, 95% of Ukrainian roads are broken.
