New EU ambassador to Ukraine advises authorities to focus on structural reforms

New Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said this at his first press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"It is necessary to work on structural reforms, starting with reform of pension system, which, according to most observers, is not quite viable and stable. It is also necessary to improve the management of state enterprises," Mingarelli said.

In addition, in his opinion, the government should prepare the basis for an open and transparent privatization. According to Hugues Mingarelli, there is a lot of work in the financial and banking sector as well.
