Ukraine has no sugar for exports this year - agriculture official

Ukraine domestic market demand totals 1.6 million tonnes of sugar in 2015 while its production is projected to total 1.2 million tons.
Another 500,000 tonnes - a carry-over reserve from the previous year. Thus, the production of sugar this year covers only the needs of the domestic market.
This conclusion can be drawn from the statement made by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Volodymyr Lapa at a press conference, Ukrinform reports.
"This year the domestic market demand stands at 1.6 million tonnes of sugar, while its production amounts to1.2 million tonnes, about 500,000 tonnes are a carry-over from the last year. Therefore, the sugar production completely satisfies demand of the domestic market, so therE’s no need to export sugar," said the deputy minister.
