Government outlines ten priority economic sectors - Boiko
KYIV, January 26 /UKRINFORM/. The Cabinet of Ministers has outlined ten priority sectors that should bring Ukraine's economy to a new level and is creating a development bank to finance them.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yuriy Boiko said this on the Shuster Live program late on Friday, UKRINFORM reported.
"Ten priorities have been selected, and a development bank, which will finance the development of these sectors, is being created," he said.
He noted that the government had identified priority sectors that were traditionally strong in Ukraine, "from aircraft construction to shipbuilding," but in a certain period lacked the funds or the need to change laws. According to Boiko, during their development the government expects the greatest effect in terms of the creation of jobs, industrial production, and taxation.
The deputy prime minister said that this path had been chosen by many European and Asian countries that achieved a significant breakthrough in economy.
"This path has been chosen by our government, a program has been drawn up, and its implementation will start soon. We are currently abiding by the same trends as Europe and the global financial system: we are choosing priority areas, providing support for them, and these areas, like a locomotive, are bringing the entire economy to a new level," Boiko said.
