KYIV, December 17 /UKRINFORM/. Currently, there is no reason to increase tariffs for housing and utility services in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said on the TV channel 1+1.

"There is no reason to raise the rates now," Azarov said.

The Prime Minister reminded that in 2010 the government was forced to meet a number of requirements of the International Monetary Fund to take a loan.

"In 2010, due to the fact that the previous government left an empty treasury and a large debt, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was forced to accept some of the requirements of the International Monetary Fund for getting a loan," Mykola Azarov said.

He noted that in the past 2.5 years serious work was done, which makes it possible not to raise the tariffs.
