Ukraine’s MoD greenlights use of 130 new models of weaponry, equipment in May

Throughout last month, the Ministry of Defense codified and allowed the use by the Army of over 130 new models of weapons and equipment, of which 80% are produced in Ukraine.

Tthis was reported by Deputy Minister Valeriy Churkin, Ukrinform reports.

The list of approved models is dominated by unmanned aerial systems, ammunition for them, vehicles and grenade launchers. The latest means of electronic warfare and reconnaissance, small arms and engineering equipment were also granted approvals.

The Deputy Minister emphasized a massively growing role of uncrewed systems on the battlefield.

“The statistics of enemy targets being destroyed show that drones are no longer an auxiliary tool, but one of the key means of destruction,” he noted.

Since year-start, almost 60 models of fiber-optic unmanned aerial systems have been greenlighted, Churkin added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the domestically produced quadcopter “Baton Optik” has been allowed for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
