The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the use of Winfly unmanned aerial vehicles by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

That’s according to the ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

“The defense ministry codified and allowed the use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine the Winfly unmanned aerial complexes produced in Ukraine. Winfly complexes are based on the frames of several sizes. Designing these UAVs, Ukrainian engineers took into account the recommendations and experience of front-line UAV operators,” the statement reads.

It is noted that certain engineering solutions have been applied to improve crew safety in combat operations and drone resistance to enemy e-warfare. The UAVs boast of high speed and good maneuvering. They are capable of not only engaging field shelters and moving ground targets but also  pursuing and destroying reconnaissance drones.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense codified and approved for use by the Armed Forces more than 100 new weapon systems and military equipment units, of which 90 percent are made in Ukraine.
