Throughout February, the Ministry of Defense codified and allowed for service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine more than 100 new models of weapons and military equipment, of which more than 90 percent are produced domestically.

This was reported by the MoD press service, Ukrinform saw.

In the same period last year, nearly 60 models were codified, and only about a third of them were Ukrainian-made.

Among the new models of equipment accepted for service February were unmanned aerial systems and ammunition for them, electronic warfare systems, CBRN safety gear, automotive equipment, aviation equipment, etc.

Since year-start, more than 10 new models of uncrewed aerial systems with a fiber-optic control have already been codified and approved for service.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Valery Churkin, "innovative models of weapons are rapidly changing the war picture. Aerial drones ensure reconnaissance, battlefield awareness, and act as means of destroying enemy targets. Currently, drones worth $500 hit enemy targets that cost tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of dollars."

He emphasized that in order to effectively combat a resource-wealthy invader, Ukraine must secure dominance in developing new instruments of war and their scaling, and win the technological race against the enemy.

"Ukrainian drones, electronic warfare systems, reconnaissance, and means of destruction must surpass enemy models in terms of their performance. The arithmetic of war in our case is about increasing lethality and efficiency of such means," Churkin noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense codified and allowed for use by units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces U13 and U15 unmanned aerial vehicles of Ukrainian production.
