President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that it is crucial for Ukraine to maintain the Ramstein format as a coalition of over 50 countries and to receive specific weapons packages following the meeting on February 12.

The Ukrainian President made this statement during a joint briefing with the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño, for media representatives, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

When asked by an Ukrinform correspondent whether the Ramstein format would change due to the fact that, for the first time, the United Kingdom, rather than the United States, will chair the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting on February 12, Zelensky said: "The Ramstein format, by the way, is not just European partners and the United States; it's 50+ countries. For us, the main result is to maintain these countries, and we have maintained them. We will see how it goes during this period, and we will see how it develops further, but we expect representation from all countries, including the United States of America."

The president emphasized that the main result of Ramstein will be the joint assistance to Ukraine.

"The number of packages with which partners support Ukraine, very specific weapons, very specific support. And I am confident we will maintain this at the upcoming Ramstein," the head of state assured.

As reported by Ukrinform, the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will take place on February 12 at the NATO headquarters, chaired by the United Kingdom.

It is noted that the meeting will be held before the NATO defense ministers' meeting, aimed at discussing priorities for Ukraine as the international community continues to work together to support Ukraine in its fight against Putin's unlawful invasion.
