Instructors from Norway train Ukrainian soldiers to safely overcome minefields

In Great Britain, Ukrainian service members under the guidance of Norwegian instructors practice a set of practical mine safety exercises, in particular, to safely overcome minefields.

“The instructors of the Norwegian Home Guard as part of the multinational training operation ‘INTERFLEX’ for the basic military training of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the leadership of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland continue to train Ukrainian servicemen and servicewomen on at mine safety classes, during which knowledge, skills and practical methods are theoretically and practically shared, which will ensure the safety of life and health during combat operations or contaminated by explosive objects,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

As noted, the skills are being developed so that all servicemen and servicewomen can practice a set of practical mine safety exercises regarding the procedure for action in a territory contaminated by enemy mines and improvised explosive devices.

“In particular, in order to safely overcome enemy minefields and confidently act in areas with a mine hazard, every serviceman and servicewoman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine learned how to recognize mines and explosive objects, give commands (signals) when they are detected, and step-by-step procedures, how to work out and mark exits from mined terrain and how to mark mines and explosive objects found on the terrain by alternative means,” the General Staff added.

This training makes it possible to improve acquired combat skills to increase personal and unit security during various scenarios of actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so that servicemen can skillfully use the necessary tactical knowledge for the defense of Ukraine.

“Under the expert guidance of the instructors of the Norwegian Home Guard, the recruits of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became more prepared for combat conditions,” the General Staff stressed.
