The Russian invaders opened an unofficial detention center in the village of Chonhar, Henichesk district, Kherson region, to which some political prisoners are transferred from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

As the Crimean Human Rights Group reports, referring to informed sources, part of the political prisoners who were held in detention center No. 2 in Simferopol were transferred to the new penitentiary facility.

"Moreover, people, who are detained for political reasons in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, get there. In particular, about 10 people detained on suspicion of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Battalion are held in the new detention center," human rights activists said.

As noted, the occupying power did not officially announce the opening of the new detention center.

As reported, some people are held captive in detention center No. 2 in Simferopol, and criminal cases are not opened against them.
