The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine has not confirmed an ammonia leak at a plant in temporarily occupied Horlivka, Donetsk region.

“On January 16 and 17, the SMM followed up on reports of an alleged leak of ammonia gas from a factory in Horlivka (non-government-controlled, 39km north-east of Donetsk). The Mission observed a calm situation and will continue to follow up,” reads the OSCE SMM daily report.

On January 15, the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that chemicals had been leaking into the air from tanks delivered to occupied Horlivka, Donetsk region.

According to intelligence data, the man-made disaster caused by the actions of the Russian occupiers could be used to accuse Ukraine of using toxic chemicals and as a pretext to step up armed aggression.
