Ukrainian troops receive over 3,000 units of weapons and equipment this year

In 2021, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received more than 3,000 basic units of weapons and military equipment.

"This year, the Ukrainian army has become even stronger, in particular, due to the ramp-up of new and modernized weapons and military equipment.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine ... received more than 3,000 basic units of weapons and military equipment, 2,000 missiles, ammunition and means of destruction for various purposes, 3.6 million artillery rounds and other weapons and ammunition. In addition, new unmanned systems have been delivered to the Armed Forces. The construction of corvettes and three aircraft has begun. Missile systems are being developed. Two patrol boats were received within the framework of international assistance," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said during an hour of questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In 2021, the security and defense sector was financed to the tune of 5.93% of GDP – UAH 267 billion. Next year, this figure will soar to 6%, i.e., UAH 320 billion, the PM noted.

As reported, on December 2, the Verkhovna Rada passed the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022". In 2022, state budget revenues are projected at UAH 1,322 billion, expenditures – at UAH 1,497 billion.
