Participants in the congress of the All-Ukrainian Association of ATO Veterans, held in Kharkiv on November 28, have signed a memorandum of support for the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Volodymyr Zelensky, in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and the country's course for joining NATO.

The press service of the SBU directorate in Kharkiv region reported this on its Facebook page, according to Ukrinform.

The head of the SBU directorate in Kharkiv region, Roman Dudin, attended the event, the report said.

In general, according to the press service, the congress was attended by representatives of veterans' organizations from almost all regions, including the Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Odesa, Sumy, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions. Due to quarantine restrictions, not everyone was able to attend the event, but only the heads of veterans' associations and public organizations.

During the event, Dudin said that now, in the face of a real threat of new aggression from Russia, Ukraine's leadership needs the support of veterans more than ever.

"Today, certain forces are trying to shake up the situation in Ukraine so that the aggressor gets an excuse to come and try to take away our territory again. But this is our land and we will always fight for it to the end," Dudin said.

After discussing the current situation, the participants of the congress signed a "joint memorandum on the full support of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Zelensky in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and the course towards NATO," the report said.
