Ukrainian soldier killed among 17 enemy attacks in JFO area

Over the past day, November 19, Russian-occupation troops violated the ceasefire 17 times, including six attacks with the use of the weapons banned under the Minsk agreements.

“Towards Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk), the occupiers launched three attacks, using 122mm artillery, 82mm and 120mm mortars. The enemy shelled 82mm mortars towards Lopaskine (24km north-west of Luhansk). In the area of Prychepylivka (50km north-west of Luhansk), the enemy forces opened fire from small arms. Outside Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), the Russian mercenaries fired on Ukrainian positions, using grenade launchers of different systems and small arms,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters informs.

Outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk), the enemy launched three attacks, using grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and other small arms. Near Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk) and Shumy (41km north of Donetsk), the enemy fired tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns

The occupiers fired 120mm mortars towards Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns – outside Popasna (69km west of Luhansk); launched two attacks, using 120mm mortars and grenade launchers of different systems – in the area of Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk).

“Towards Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk), the enemy fired grenade machine guns and small arms. The armed formations of the Russian Federation used 152mm artillery to shell the outskirts of Nyzhnie (56 north-west of Luhansk),” the JFO Headquarters reports.

No civilian casualties were reported. One Ukrainian serviceman received a fatal wound in the enemy shelling.

Without resorting to weapons prohibited under the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian defenders returned fire and forced the enemy to cease shelling.

As of 07:00, November 20, no ceasefire violations were recorded.
