Militants fire small arms at OSCE UAV in occupied Donetsk region
“While positioned on the south-western edge of Vasylivka (non-government-controlled, 20km north of Donetsk) to conduct an announced mini-UAV flight, the Mission heard five bursts of small-arms fire at an assessed distance of 300m north-north-east, assessed as aimed at the UAV, which was flying about 230m north-north-east of the SMM’s position," the report reads.
The Mission landed the UAV and left the area.
During the same flight as well as a subsequent one, the UAV also experienced GPS signal interference, assessed as caused by probable jamming
In addition, at a checkpoint of the armed formations near Bessarabka (non-government-controlled, 85km south of Donetsk), three members of the armed formations allowed the Mission passage southwards towards Novoazovsk (non-government-controlled, 102km south-east of Donetsk) only after about 100 minutes, citing “lack of permission from superiors”. While at the checkpoint, the SMM observed cars passing through the checkpoint in both directions.
