NSDC developing various scenarios to respond to Russia's destabilizing actions - Danilov
According to the report, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said this at a meeting with Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Larisa Galadza.
"The parties exchanged views on the security situation in the region, particularly in the context of escalating Russian influence on neighboring Belarus and preparations for the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises Zapad-2021," the statement reads.
According to Danilov, the NSDC is monitoring the situation around the clock and is developing various scenarios to respond to developments. "Unfortunately, Russia does not intend to stop its attempts to destabilize the situation in the region," he said.
Danilov added that the support of Ukraine's strategic partners was extremely important to counter the Russian hybrid threat.
He thanked the Canadian side for its comprehensive assistance to Ukraine. "Canada is our reliable friend and partner," he said.
Galadza, in turn, noted Ukraine's determination on sanctions policy and stated that Canada's support for the restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty over the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine remained unchanged.
