Zelensky, Michel meet with representatives of international humanitarian missions in Donbas
"We highly appreciate the work of humanitarian missions on the line of delimitation. You provide invaluable assistance in the implementation of our peace initiatives and support the civilian population. It is your initiatives that save lives in the difficult conditions of the frontline Donbas," Zelensky emphasized, the President’s press service informs.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Charles Michel inspected the mobile Administrative Services Center donated under the UN Development Programme. The mobile center allows for the provision of quality service to people who cannot get to the stationary ASC buildings, in particular, to elderly residents of frontline settlements.
"We got it thanks to our humanitarian partners. Such centers can provide services to people on the ground," Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov stressed.
Representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) stressed the importance of social adaptation of internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories. The staffers of the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross spoke about humanitarian initiatives to protect the elderly living on the line of delimitation.
Representatives of the Danish Demining Group and HALO Trust, who deal with mine clearance, thanked the President of Ukraine for signing the law on mine action. According to them, this document will speed up mine clearance works and help reduce the number of victims of mine explosions. Representatives of the organizations called for continued implementation of legislation on mine action.
Representatives of the OSCE SMM told Volodymyr Zelensky and Charles Michel about the peculiarities of work in Donbas and demonstrated the Mission's technical capabilities - special vehicles and drones.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Charles Michel thanked the humanitarian missions for their activities in eastern Ukraine.

On Tuesday, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a joint trip to Donbas.
