OSCE records about 300 explosions in Donbas – report

Compared with the previous reporting period, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The OSCE SMM said this in a report issued on February 22, based on information from the monitoring teams received as of 19:30 on February 21, 2020.

"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (195), compared with the previous reporting period (90 explosions)," the report says.

Two thirds of the ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas south-east of Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk) as well as north and north-north-east of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk).

“In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (95), compared with the previous reporting period (27 explosions),” the report says.

As in the previous reporting period, more than half of the ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas north and north-east of Berezivske (non-government-controlled, 53km northwest of Luhansk).
