NSDC secretary and U.S. officials discuss defense reform

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk held a coordination meeting on reforming the military-industrial complex, the NSDC's press service has reported.

The meeting was attended by members of the Supervisory Board of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, the director-general of Ukroboronprom, advisers to the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, members of the NSDC Office, and representatives of the U.S. Government.

In turn, the U.S. Government was represented by U.S. Senior Military-Industrial Complex Reform Advisor Donald Winter, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. in Ukraine William Taylor, and members of the U.S. Embassy and defense departments.

"The key topics of the meeting were the reform process of the general management system in the military-industrial complex, in particular, the Ukroboronprom State Concern. The parties discussed promising areas for the development of the Concern and the process of forming a new model of the state management in the military-industrial complex," the report reads.

Following the meeting, the sides decided on the state body, which should fulfill the function of a shareholder in the Ukroboronprom State Concern, as well as the structure and principles of the formation and operation of the supervisory board, the construction of a marketing strategy and sales system in the Ukroboronprom State Concern. In addition, the participants of the meeting agreed on a comprehensive audit of Ukroboronprom.
