President: Ukrainian troops ready to defend Europe against Kremlin's aggression

"I emphasize that the Ukrainian army has reached a new level. Cooperation with NATO Allies shows that Ukrainian servicepersons train quickly and are ready to defend the entire European continent against possible aggression of the Kremlin," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at a joint briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Poroshenko also thanked Merkel for the assistance in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel — the members of the Joint Forces.

"I wish to express my gratitude to the Chancellor for the possibility of rehabilitating Ukrainian military personnel in hospitals in Germany, the clinics of the German Bundeswehr. They appreciate this support very much. It is a stance of a real friend and partner," the Head of State said.

This week, a group of Ukrainian military personnel is participating in an annual workshop, which is "another proof of deepening Ukraine-Germany defense cooperation," Poroshenko noted.
