Ukraine's agricultural production index grows 2% in January-August 2018

Ukraine's agricultural production index grew by 2% in January - August 2018 compared to the corresponding period in 2017, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
In the context of categories of farms, the growth occurred mainly due to agricultural enterprises - by 3.9%. Thus, crop farms increased their production volumes by 4.8%, livestock farms - by 2.3%. As to households, agricultural production grew by 0.3%, crop production rose by 1.8%, while livestock production decreased by 2.2%.
As reported, as of October 11, Ukrainian farmers threshed 46.8 million tonnes of grains from an area of 12.0 million hectares with a yield of 39 centners per hectare.
