Militants launched 35 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 35 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 13 times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. 

“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk), Shumy (50km north of Donetsk), Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk), Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

Russian-occupation troops fired grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

In addition, illegal armed formations shelled the JFO units outside Luhanske, Novoluhanske, Shumy, Pivdenne and Mayorsk, using 82mm mortars. Ukrainian positions near Luhanske and Novoluhanske came under 120mm mortar fire, outside Hnutove – under fire from weapons on infantry fighting vehicles.

Three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in last day. According to the intelligence, four militants were killed, four more were wounded.

Today, militants have already launched three attacks on Ukrainian troops, including from heavy weapons.
