President instructs Security and Defense Council to hold meeting on countering interference in elections

"We agreed with the leaders of the EU and the U.S. to closely coordinate our efforts and cooperate at all levels. I instruct the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to hold a separate meeting on countering interference in the elections," the head of state wrote on Facebook.

Poroshenko has recalled that next year both Ukraine and many of our partners expect important elections that will determine the pace and quality of our development and interaction in the medium term. "Kyiv, as well as Brussels and Washington, and in the overwhelming majority of Western capitals, has no doubts about the Kremlin's preparations for large-scale interventions in the electoral processes in order to break the European Union's unity and solidarity with Ukraine that are dangerous for the aggressor, split the transatlantic alliance and support populist, nationalistic and Euro-skeptical political forces," the president said.

According to him, it is necessary to be ready, together with the international partners, to counteract hybrid challenges to the free democratic will of our citizens.
