Militants launched 40 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 40 attacks, including four from heavy weapons, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. 

“The situation in the JFO area remained absolutely controlled. Russian-occupation forces used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, small arms and sometimes weapons on infantry fighting vehicles to fire on defenders of Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk), Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk), Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol). Ukrainian positions near Luhanske and Hnutove came under 82mm mortar fire. The enemy also used 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions outside Lebedynske,” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling. According to the intelligence, two militants were killed and seven more wounded.

Today, militants have already opened fire four times on Ukrainian troops near Krymske, Marinka and Lebedynske. One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded.
