Peace talks on the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine within the framework of the Minsk process do not ensure de-occupation of Donbas, but there is no alternative to this process.
National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said this during the 9th National Expert Forum in Kyiv on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Minsk talks do not give concrete result of de-occupation of these territories. However, there is another problem that today there is no alternative to the Minsk talks. This is the only platform where a conversation between Ukrainian and Russian sides takes place without weapons," Turchynov said.
He noted that the problem of the Minsk process was that Putin did not want to leave Ukraine, but rather wanted to strengthen destabilization factors in Ukraine.
