Forty military ambulances, received from the United States, have been sent today to the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in eastern Ukraine.

"Forty military ambulances, which save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, have been sent to the ATO area. From the very first day they will work for the Ukrainian army, Ukrainian soldier," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote this on his Facebook page.

On the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 6, Poroshenko handed over the certificates for 40 military ambulances, which had been provided to Ukraine by the United States, to the Ukrainian soldiers.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch stressed that the United States supported Ukraine in protecting its sovereignty and noted that 40 state-of-the-art military ambulances, equipped for providing medical assistance, would increase the level of response and readiness.
