Defense Ministry: Over 218,000 servicepersons get combatant status since ATO start

Since the start of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine, 218,067 servicepersons and employees of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have received the combatant status. 

“Since the start of the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, 218,067 servicepersons and employees of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who took part in the ATO, have received the combatant status. Defense Ministry’s decorations have been granted to 45,500 ATO participants,” Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Spokesperson for ATO, Colonel Andriy Lysenko told a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports he said.
