Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, NATO delegation discuss social adaption of retired servicepersons

Ukrainian First Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak held talks with a NATO delegation, headed by Deputy Director of NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine Ann-Kristin Bjergene, in Kyiv on July 25, the Defense Ministry’s press service reports. 

“The parties discussed the issues of social and professional adaptation of retired service personnel, particularly in the framework of NATO Trust Fund on development of system of transfer from military to professional civil carrier aimed at development of effective integrated approach to social adaptation of service members, as well as retraining system integrated to function of personnel management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” reads the report,

In turn, the Deputy Director of NATO Liaison Office to Ukraine noted a significant development of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine in this sphere.

The parties shared opinions, views, and practical advice, as well as discussed further cooperation.

“The program of social adaptation of serviceperson who will retire is very important. We should help our service members to come back to social life. We are ready for cooperation with our partners in this sphere”, Rusnak stressed.
