Turchynov, Ambassador Sumi discuss deepening of security and defense cooperation

"We appreciate Japan's assistance in reforming the security and defense system of Ukraine," Turchynov said.

The parties paid special attention to the discussion of the situation in eastern Ukraine, which arose as a result of the hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the bill on the peculiarities of state policy for restoring Ukraine's sovereignty over the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In turn, Ambassador Sumi has noted that Japan is interested in deepening the partnership between the countries. "Ukraine is an important partner for us, and we are interested in developing cooperation at all the levels," the Ambassador of Japan said.
