Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the Trilateral Contact Group, Ambassador Martin Sajdik visited certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on June 10-13, 2017, according to the OSCE headquarters.

“Ambassador Sajdik accepted the invitation by the Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine ‎to visit the Catholic communities in Donetsk and Luhansk, together with the Auxiliary Bishop of the Kharkiv-Zaporizhzhia Diocese,” reads the report.

Another purpose of the visit was to obtain a first-hand insight into the social and economic consequences of measures introduced earlier this year by both sides (stop of cargo transports across the line of contact and "external management" for companies under Ukrainian jurisdiction in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions), as well as problems of water supply..

Ambassador Sajdik was accompanied by the Coordinator of the TCG Working Group on Economic Issues and Rehabilitation, Mr. Per Fischer. The OSCE SMM, notably the Luhansk and Donetsk Monitoring Teams, facilitated Ambassador Sajdik's‎ visit and provided him with comprehensive information on current security challenges.
