Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has stated that Lithuania has come to the rescue of Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian aggression and now the relations between two countries only get better.

The Minister said this to journalists after the official talks with Lithuanian Defense Minister Raimundas Caroblis, the Ministry’s press service informs.

"I express my deep gratitude to the people of Lithuania for all-round support for Ukraine in difficult times. Lithuania came to the rescue of Ukraine from the first days of Russian aggression, and our relations now only improve and reach a higher level of cooperation," Poltorak said.

The defense ministers of the two countries discussed the development of cyber defense and strategic communications cooperation and agreed on joint actions within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Commission at the ministerial level.

"It is necessary to continue cooperation, increase the number of Lithuanian military instructors, who train Ukrainian servicemen, and improve this work. We should also expand international cooperation and exchange of experience in public democratic control over the Armed Forces, the cooperation at the level of special operations forces, cyber security and educational programs," Caroblis said.
