Canada will allocate $3.8 million for mine clearance in Ukraine.

This was stated by Foreign Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It is very important to carry out mine clearing operations around the world since the destructive impact of anti-personnel mines on civilians is obvious... I hope that these funds will help to free world from such weapons. This is important for long-term peace and security," Freeland said.

As noted, the funds allocated by Canada will be used to conduct mine clearance educational and training activities in eastern Ukraine.
